Christmas Day 2008!

The children opened their presents...and other people's presents as well!
In the evening we had a party with other HCT people in the building. The turkey was delicious...in fact, we had food form all over the world. The nationalities present: British, Japanese, American, Canadian, Turkish and Colombian.

Family Day at college

We went to Family Day - Horsley and Eleanor's first event.

Sharjah Water Festival

This Eid Sharjah is having a water festival...in Majaz Park.

Amy's classmate has a party

Amy's classmage Ethan had a party in the fun-zone of one of the local shopping centers.

Today is PE day - Amy and Nina are in Burton - yellow.

School Christmas Fayre

Christmas came early at Sharjah English School - the kids enjoyed it!

Nina's friend is 6

Nina's friend, Ozan, has turned 6...he looked happy with his present.

Miho's friend leaves town

Miho found Chika san's blog before we can to Sharjah...and she has been very helpful. Good luck to her as she returns to Japan for an new life as a mother.

On the 19th floor - at the front, so we have a good view.

Sharjah Aquariam

They say it will be good when it is finished...and what was really surprizing was the flowers I found growing in an unused section of the beach.

Nina's classmate has a party

We went to the Discovery Center...and discovered a lot.

Lots of parties

Nina was invited to a birthday party...held in a family villa. They played lots of games. Nina did well at musical chairs.

Amy is 8!

Amy is 8, and we went out to Mirdiff to look around...it looks like a good place to live.

We went to Dreamland Aqua Park

Amy is 8 tomorrow so we went to Dreamland Aqua Park today...Amy and Nina had a great time. The wave pool seemed to be the favorite. It was very busy...probably the day after Ramadan finishes is always going to be busy. On the way back we visited a nearby hotel and replenished ourselves with some much needed refreshments...the ones that are not available in Sharjah.

In the apartment

Here is the living room from the window - at the far end is the entrance hall and the door. It's big with a high ceiling. The plants are part of the family, too!

Beach club

We visited a beach club...it was a really nice place with two pools, access into the sea and various sports facilities. We may join this club, but will check out a few others first.

Friday near where we live

Friday is the holy day between 12 and 1 a lot of people attend prayers...so lots of cars are parked on the road!
